Main features of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart are titration cracks. The ability to seamlessly switch between dimensions without too many loading screens is what makes this game only possible on PlayStation 5. While this mechanic is tied to the plot and used to create To a fun effect, Insomniac not only limits expressing the idea of jumping into new dimensions to story moments but applies them to dimensions as well.
Pocket sizes are essentially hidden challenge areas around each of the game’s planets. By finding and interacting with them, you will be transported to a new area where you must complete a unique challenge to obtain a special piece of armor as a reward. There are a total of 12 pocket sizes in the game, which you can spot as large purple crystals floating in the air and while you only need to find one size to earn the More Than Lint trophy , you still want to do it all for the pieces of armor you’ll get. If you’re looking for these pocket sizes, here’s where you can find them all and the rewards you’ll earn.
The only pocket size in Nefarious City northeast of the central market. You’ll notice a small island that doesn’t lead to anything on the map here. Go there and go to the top behind the building in the top right corner of the area to find this small size.
This challenge involves placing on a series of balloons from the parade and maneuvering a few simple enemies at once. Do it all the way to the end, and you’ll get a camouflage robot helmet.
The Sargasso comes in three pocket sizes to track and complete, and the two of them are pretty close together in the Outpost L51.
The first pocket size is inside the base of the Rivet. Just go inside and hang left instead of right to find the crack in reality. This challenge is another platform based challenge, only now you will be jumping through an explosive series of platforms. Hurry up and take advantage of your hover boots, and you’ll make it to the end and get the Robot Camouflage Boots.
The next pocket size is southwest. Finding the island just west of the main island leads to the southwest base, and the crack is at the far edge. This challenge involves carefully spinning the crates to give yourself a path and platform. Take your time and don’t use any explosives, and you’ll get to the end with no problems. Camouflage chests are your reward.
The ultimate pocket size is part of the important trail and serves as a guide for riding Speedles. Just complete the quest and you will get the Galactic Ranger.
The only pocket size on this level is almost impossible to miss. As soon as you disembark, head northeast on the landing pads to spot this obvious purple crack. The turning point in this challenge is how the pedestals rotate on the timer from flat to vertical. Your travel time is good and you will get the Q-Force Helmet.
The next two challenges are in Savali and again pretty close together. The first one is located in the southwest, almost at the edge of the map. This section focuses on testing your wall running skills. Time your jump to avoid explosives and enjoy your new Captain Starshield Helmet.
The remaining pocket size is located just northwest of the first dimension, on a cliff. This one also deals with the ability to run through walls, and while removing the explosive element, it enhances raw challenge. Hold it, and you’ll earn your Lombax Praetorian Greaves.
The only pocket size to find in the Blizar Prime tier can be found on the path heading northeast to where you get Cook’s side quest. As you leave the main center, look to the left to spot the rift. This challenge requires you to navigate invisible platforms that you can briefly see when pressing buttons placed along the way. They’re not too small, so you don’t have to be perfect, but it’s pretty complicated. If you can make it to the end, you’ll add a Galactic Ranger Chest to your collection.
After you get the Hurlshot on Torren IV and continue across the islands, you’ll be traveling in one dimension right away. Rivet will even comment on it, so it’s hard to miss. You have another Speedle course waiting for you with no real tricks or pitfalls. Cross the finish line and claim your Lombax Praetorian Helmet.
From Furion Forge on Cordelion, head southeast while in Other Dimension. The crack is right next to the wall in this room. The challenge here involves using your Shatterblast to knock down the emergency raft to use as a temporary escape pad. Jump to the end and check out the Captain Starshield Chest.
Descend to the Ardolis Pirates’ base, just below the passage you cross when leaving the caves at the southern end of the map, hop onto the beach. Look behind you to spot the bag size. This challenge is almost identical to the one on Sargasso, again using explosives, only with more grappling. The prize is Captain Starshield Boots.
The ultimate pocket size is in Viceron Zoradoom Prison. From the Zurkon vendor, head north and look for a hidden little storage room that you can enter and take on the ultimate challenge. This time, you’ll need to master both Speedle racing and wall running, so make sure you’re ready to drop your car when the time comes. Manage to overcome this obstacle, and you will eventually earn the Lombax Praetorian Chest.
