Next time someone asks where you are Call of Duty: Warzone, the answer might be “on mobile”. Activision announced (via a press release about the Call of Duty official blog) that the first-person battle royale game will be available on mobile devices in the future.
The Battlefield The news doesn’t come from the game trailer or official reveal. Instead, Activision has shared job listings through the Call of Duty blog and on social media channels to recruit mobile developers.
While no features have been shared about the game yet, Activision says that “this large-scale battle royale experience is being built natively for mobile.” This means Call of Duty Warzone Coming to phones and other mobile devices will not be a simple one-to-one gateway. This will be a brand new experience being developed with mobile players in mind.
Activision also states that the game is designed to “entertain gamers around the world for years to come”. Considering the state of Warzone’s live service, players can expect the mobile version to be similarly supported with more updates and patches post-release.
This isn’t the first ride of the Call of Duty series on mobile devices. Besides Call of Duty: Zombies mobile phone gateway, Call of Duty Mobile released in 2019 and became the Android game of the year. Many have hailed the title as one of the best mobile shooters on the market.
Although there is no word on a release yet, we have been confirmed about a Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and a Modern War 2 coming in the future.
