Capcom officially revealed the return of 5 street fighter Capcom Pro Tour series for 2021 at the end of the E3 2021 announcement stream. This is the first time Capcom has advertised a long-running tournament series to such a large audience outside of the heavyweight fighting game community.
Capcom Pro Tour is a competition round that Capcom organizes every year for The latest entry in the Street Fighter series. The series features a number of events occurring in various states, regions, and countries, each with a $5,000 prize pool. In these events, players compete for points, and eventually, those with the most points go to the big stage, the Capcom Cup, where they compete for the grand slam title.
Like last year, the 2021 Capcom Pro Tour will feature over 32 different events in 19 different territories, leaving plenty of room for all players to get in on the action.
Along with the return of the circuit are various official Pro Tour side shows, including a quiz show Not neutral, exhibition series The setand team tournament series Street Fighter League.
One thing that hasn’t been confirmed is the return of the Capcom Pro Tour to live events. In previous years, certain Pro Tour events appeared at major fighting game tournaments. With those leagues slowly returning this year, starting with the CEO (Community Effort Orlando), it could start returning in December, if Capcom decides so.
Players can learn more about the series and register at Capcom’s Official Pro Tour Website.
