Smuggled goods coming to Xbox and PC consoles from developer Avalanche Studios, the same team that worked on the Just Cause series. The project will be an open-world cooperative game, although not much else is known about it.
The company introduced a brief trailer for Smuggled goods as part of Microsoft’s E3 referral program.
While we don’t know much about the upcoming game, we do know it will be published by Microsoft, so it’s unlikely to appear on platforms other than the Xbox and PC ecosystems.
According to one Microsoft press release, “Smuggled goods is a co-op smuggler’s paradise set in the fictional world of 1970s Bayan, and is our most spectacular and ambitious game to date. “

Avalanche Studio’s Ultimate Game, Rage 2, launched in 2019. Before that, it developed the Just Cause series, with the first entry coming out in 2006, Just for cause 2 in 2010, Cause 3 in 2015, and Cause only 4 in 2018.
Microsoft revealed that it was in talks with Avalanche about this project about three years ago. It is not clear when the development on Smuggled goods has begun, but it may take some time before it launches. For now, the Just Cause series may not be active while the team works on this new project with Microsoft.
