With just three months left in 2021, developer CD Projekt Red has some big plans to curb what has been a rough year for the company. In it latest financial report, the company revealed that it is still planning to release two games this year, both of which are next-gen updates. According to the report, previously announced next-generation versions of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 still on track to grow by the end of 2021.

The Witcher 3: The Wild HuntThe next-gen release, on the other hand, will come with all of the game’s expansions and “visual upgrades,” along with “additional items inspired by the Netflix series.”
While both games are scheduled for release later this year, CD Projekt Red has also taken some of its staff out of work on the next-gen version of the game. Cyberpunk 2077. A chart in the report shows that more than half of the company’s development staff are focused on supporting the game, as well as developing its next-generation version. As of June 30, however, that number has dropped significantly.
With 2021 nearing completion, CD Projekt Red is quickly running out of time to ship the next-gen versions of its two newest – and best-selling – titles. The case is doubly so for Cyberpunk 2077, is still plagued by bugs and glitches that require major patches almost a year from the original release.
