Fate 2 Season of the Splicer is in full swing and it includes a new ceremonial weapon. The Null Composure is a new composite rifle with some great perks, but it’s a catch to earn it. To help you avoid getting crushed, we’ve put together everything you need to know about unlocking the seasonal ritual weapon Null Composure.
How to Unlock the Seasonal Ritual Weapon Null Composure
Getting the Null Composure thermonuclear rifle is easy, but it will take some time. You need to complete the quest A Sacred Fusion to unlock it, which requires completing a series of playlist activities. Before you can get there, however, you need a quest.
Go to the Tower, and talk to Banshee-44 to pick it up. If you’ve talked to him since the start of Season of the Splicer, you’ve probably got the quest in your inventory. Like the earlier ritual quests, this one requires mulling over playlist activities as you slowly fill in two progress bars. Here’s what you need to do:
- Earn points by defeating enemies in playlist activities
- Complete the activities in the playlist
The second request doesn’t specify any operations, which is a good thing. All you need to do is focus on the playlist activity where you can earn the most lives, as that will boost the progress bar for both requests. Gambit is a good choice if you have a good configuration and you can kill fast in Crucible if you are good enough. In fact, you’ll need to bounce between different activities so you don’t burn out (ours The Gambit guide and the Crucible tutorial might help there).
In addition to playing more Fate 2, There are several things you can do to speed up the grind. First, make sure to equip a thermonuclear rifle (preferably with Sun damage) and another weapon with Sun damage. You’ll earn progressive bonuses for kills with thermonuclear rifles, decays, or Sun damage on playlist operations.
Also, make sure to equip your Stasis subclass. That will help you progress even further (be sure to read our guide on how to unlock the new Stasis aspects from Season of the Splicer).
Unlocking Null Composure gets you a great new thermonuclear rifle that automatically completes a seasonal challenge from Season of the Splicer. Once you’ve completed the activities, return to the Tower and talk to Banshee-44 to get your new weapon.
The Null Composure is a thermonuclear rifle introduced in Season of the Splicer that deals Void damage and uses special ammo. It comes with the Strange Passive perk, which increases your stockpile and reloads faster when the magazine runs out. Otherwise it has two fixed privileges and two privilege options:
- Slotted barrel: Added +5 stability and +15 handling.
- Projection fuse: Add range +10.
- Feeding Frenzy or Warm up: Feeding Frenzy gives you a reload speed for fast kills, which stacks up as you earn quick kills. Heating Up increases accuracy and stability and improves recoil when you do your final hit.
- Reservoir Burst or High impact reserve: Reservoir Burst has an additional +30 magazine and gives you a powerful explosion that causes enemies to explode when killed when the battery is full. The High Impact Reserve makes the rounds at the end of your magazine more powerful.
Of course, customizing your weapon is part of the experience in Destiny 2. However, we recommend the Reservoir Heating and Booming System. Warming up will provide a solid stat boost for as long as you can keep delivering the ultimate hits. Reservoir Burst, on the other hand, not only increases the size of your magazine, but also increases your damage – with the ability to take out other enemies – during your first few rounds.
