EA didn’t hold a digital conference at E3 this year, choosing instead to host its own event the following summer. That event, EA Play Live, will begin on July 22. However, before the main show, EA will host a series of other events they call the “Spotlight Series.” This is Full schedule events EA has planned and what you can expect from each.
The future of first-person shooters
The first in EA’s Spotlight series of events was a roundtable on two of the company’s most trending shooters: Battlefield 2042 and Apex Legends. Spotlight will feature DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson, DICE LA general manager Christian Grass, Respawn founder and team general manager Vince Zampella, and Top Game director Chad Grenier. The team will have an overall discussion of future first-person shooters, as well as what players can expect to see at the main show on July 22.
Future Spotlight on First Person Shooters will go live at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on July 8.
At 10 a.m. PT on July 13, EA will host an EA <3's Independent Studios Spotlight event. It was a roundtable conversation with Josef Fares of Hazelight (It Lost two), Oolav Redmalm by Zoink (Lost in random), Mel Philips and Abubarker Salim of Silver Rain, and Huha Bala of Velan (Knockout City).
If the title of this Spotlight isn’t clear, this thread is all about the next entry in the Madden franchise, Madden NFL 22. The rollout will include insights from game developers on how players and community members influence the development of the game. Fans will also get a preview Madden NFL 22New live service feature of: Scout. The panel will feature Seann Graddy, Tom Lischke and Andre Weingarten of EA Sports.
The Madden NFL 22 All-Access Spotlight is set to begin at 4 p.m. PT on July 19. Another EA Sports-focused event will take place the following day, at 10 a.m. PT Ocean on July 20, but EA has kept the details of that event for now.
EA’s main event will take place at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on July 22, and will be more of a game than a chat. The EA Play Live program will “make the game an unwavering spotlight, with new gameplay revelations, some giveaways, and other surprises.” In general, the program will be 40 minutes long and special Battlefield 2042, Apex Legendsand Random loss, however, EA teased that “we’ll also have a few other games to highlight, but for those, you’ll just have to wait and see.” There is speculation that the show may include a Rumored Dead Space reboot.
