Resident Evil village coming on May 7, continuing the smaller story of 2017 Resident Evil 7. Although Village takes place in the broader world of Resident Evil, featuring the same protagonist from Resident Evil 7 and continue the events of that game. To get you started right, we’ve put together everything you need to know before you play Resident Evil village.
We are referring to the main story of Resident Evil 7 and its two DLC stories, Finish Zoe and Not a hero. Summarizes our story chronologically, so we’ll move on to the DLC content when it makes sense. Also, needless to say, but there are a lot of spoilers below. We are ruining everything about Resident Evil 7, And we’re going to talk a little bit about what’s possible in this Resident Evil village, So please consider yourself warned.
Story so far
Resident Evil 7 starting with a brand new protagonist: Ethan Winters. The game opens with some vague tapes about Mia Winters, one commemorating the relationship between Mia and Ethan, and another warning Ethan “stay away”. Mia is referring to Baker’s whereabouts that were abandoned in Louisiana, where she went missing three years before the game started. She is presumed dead, but Ethan still decides to go find her.
In Louisiana, Ethan finds a derelict house and Mia is surprised. Things started to fall apart soon after, when Mia warned Ethan that “Daddy” would come pick them up. Mia frantically guides Ethan through the house, obviously scared of what might be around. During the run, Mia turns from a frightened husband / wife into a monster, attacks Ethan with a screwdriver and finally chops his hand with a chainsaw. Ethan attacks and kills Mia in the attack – she’s not completely dead, as we’ll talk later – before being knocked out by “Daddy,” by Jack Baker.
The Baker family
Ethan wakes up tied in a chair during the Baker family dinner. It was Jack Baker, the father and leader of the family, Marguerite, his wife, and their son Lucas. An unnamed woman is also in a wheelchair by the table, and she continues to appear in various locations throughout the game. The family organized a party of offal dishes spread out all over the table, frantically switching between eating and screaming.
Since then, a lot of Resident Evil’s monstrosities happened. An ill-fated cop tries to rescue Ethan, you have to dash through the house to find various keys, and members of the Baker family slowly watch you, waiting for a mistake. The specifics here don’t really matter to that Resident Evil village, But the meat part of the game reveals two important things: Zoe and Mold.
Immediately after dinner, you meet Zoe, who is also a member of the Baker family. She’s not as crazy as the others, and she guides you through the Baker estate over the phone calls. Molded creatures are lifelike creatures created from humans. You know that the Baker family, who are believed to have died in the area, are kidnapping tourists, killing and skinning them, and turning them into the Mold. The family lives on abandoned organs.
Zoe tells Ethan that both she and Mia are infected and that he needs to gather the ingredients to make a serum to heal them. After collecting the ingredients, Ethan begins to have bizarre images of a young girl, and Lucas grabs Mia and Zoe and locks them away. After a few puzzles and a big battle, Lucas flees and leaves Ethan to explore Mia and Zoe. But before he can cure them, a monstrous Jack Baker attacks, and Ethan is forced to use one of the vials of serum to kill him.
Zoe leads the trio to a back dock where they can escape, but with only a bottle of serum, Ethan is forced to choose who to save. Players have the choice here and depending on who the player chooses, they will get a different ending. However, things will make a lot more sense if the player chooses Mia, so that’s what we’re going to do. Heartbroken Zoe stood on the dock as Mia and Ethan sprinted in a small boat, knowing she would never escape her nightmare at the Baker residence.
Finish Zoe is the last part of the DLC for Resident Evil 7, but it happened right after the boat ride scene in the main game. After Mia and Ethan leave, Zoe is calcified by a creature called Eveline (we’ll see her soon). Joe Baker, Jack’s brother and Zoe’s uncle, find her in crystal form amid a group of bioterrorists. Joe defeats the soldiers and drags one of them, along with Zoe, back to the house.
The snake-man tells Joe that there is a cure for Zoe’s condition, but before he can lead Joe there, a “swamp man” burns the house and kills the hunter. Joe and Zoe escape on a boat, and finally Joe finds a cure. However, the swamp man, who is actually the resurrected Jack Baker, attacks before Joe can cure Zoe. Jack throws Joe into the water, Joe escapes and follows Jack into the house, Joe uses his biological arm to kill Jack once and for all. Joe cured Zoe before a group of Blue Umbrella soldiers, including Chris Redfield, burst in and took the two to safety.
Meanwhile, Mia and Ethan go through the swamp before crashing into a large ship. The player controls Mia at this point, as she passes the ship in search of Ethan. You know that Mia was actually on this ship three years before it crashed, escorting a biological weapon called Eveline. Haunted by the concept of family, Eveline clings to Mia and begins to act on the ship. She has the ability to infect people with a virus that will brainwash them and make them more susceptible to mind control.
Eventually Eveline crashed her boat in the first bay of the fictional town of Dulvey, Louisiana. The Baker family stumbles upon the shipwreck and takes Mia to safety, all before being taken over by Eveline. You know that Eveline is inside a terrifying grandma watching the players around the house and that she is in command of everything that happened (including Mia’s attack on Ethan). Ethan enters a secret laboratory located in an underground salt mine, using a piece of Eveline’s DNA to create a toxin that eventually kills her.
After a major battle, Ethan wakes up with a Blue Umbrella helicopter flying down to rescue him. On the team there is Chris Redfield, the iconic protagonist who has appeared in most of the major Resident Evil games. The epilogue also ties into Lucas, showing that we’re working with an unknown organization and just pretending to be under Eveline’s control to maintain his cover.
Not a hero
Not a hero is a free DLC for part Resident Evil 7, And it took place right after the main game. After rescuing Ethan and Mia, Chris Redfield entered the salt mine to find Lucas Baker. He knows that Lucas was working with a group called The Connections, a crime syndicate that sent Lucas to the Baker estate to collect information about the E-type virus that Eveline had been infected with.
The small campaign ends with Chris Redfield killing the mutated Lucas and destroying computer equipment in the lab. He was quickly called back to the nearby Blue Umbrella camp to take the call. The game ends here, but the player suggests that the call is somehow involved Resident Evil village.
There are a few main characters to understand the story in Resident Evil 7 and its impact in Village.
Chris Redfield is one of the two main characters in the original work Resident Evil, and he has appeared in almost every game in the series. After a stint in the Air Force, Redfield joined Racoon City’s Special Tactics and Rescue Service (STARS) and joined Bravo Team to investigate a mansion where the original game took place. After the Umbrella Corporation ends – is seen in Chronicles cell Chris Redfield joins the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Coalition (BSAA).
Between that and the events of Resident Evil 7, Redfield has traveled the world to fight bioterrorism. He is suspected of being a main character in Resident Evil village, working for the BSAA under the guidance of Blue Umbrella.
Mia Winters is a special agent working for the Connections bioterrorism organization. She joined the group as a researcher in 2010, and in 2014, she was appointed as a caretaker of Eveline-type bio-weapons. Mia concealed her relationship with The Connections from Ethan from 2010 until the 2017 Dulvey Incident. Resident Evil 7, She has moved somewhere in Europe with Ethan. The couple had their first child, Rosemary, between 2017 and 2021 where Resident Evil village pick up the phone.
The Umbrella Corporation supported the US government in biological weapons research from the 1970s to 1990. After a viral weapon leaked and infected tens of thousands of people in Racoon City, the US government took over. Blaming Umbrella, they eventually filed a class action lawsuit known as the Racoon Trials. During this time, the business’s executives were arrested, and Umbrella’s subsidiaries declared bankruptcy.
Under the threat of a large number of bioterrorists, Umbrella reorganized in 2007 as the Blue Umbrella. Many people, including Chris Redfield, still do not trust the organization. However, Redfield joins them to fight the spread of bioterrorism, helping Blue Umbrella respond to the Dulvey incident.
The Connections is a criminal organization involved in biological weapons research. In 2000, The Connections created a new fungus, which will eventually lead to E-type biological weapons in 2014. This fungus, known as “Mold”, can be used to control the mind. The Connections and The Connections hope to sell it to governments to take over areas without the use of traditional means. In 2014, the team created the E-001 with a fungus, also known as Eveline.
After crashing near Baker’s residence, The Connections set up a lab at the Abercrombie Salt Mine to monitor the situation. They discovered that the E-fungus rapidly ages the subject, causing Eveline to go from a young girl to an older woman within three years. The Connections brought Lucas in for hands-on study, and he eventually killed all the other researchers in the salt mine at The Connections’ request. Lucas and Eveline died in the end Resident Evil 7, But the connections may show again in Resident Evil village.
What we know about Resident Evil Village

After the Dulvey incident, Ethan and Mia moved to Europe, where they settled. The couple gave birth to a baby, Rosemary, who was infected with a mold passed down by Mia. Resident Evil village It opens with a scene of Chris Redfield and a group of soldiers executing Mia while Ethan watches. The group then kidnaps Rosemary.
Their house is located in the mountains near Castle Dimitrescu. Where is this Village takes place, when Chris and Ethan walk on completely different paths. There are many things that will happen in Village, But for now, all we know is that the castle is ruled by a sect of satan witches, capturing nearby victims and sucking their blood to create a wine called Sanguis Virginis.
The leader, Alcina Dimitrescu, has been depicted with a glowing orange eye, and VillageChris Redfield’s boxy figure shows the same glowing eye. This could indicate a link between Redfield and the castle, or perhaps it shows Redfield is under the control of the Dimitrescu family. Despite that, Capcom has confirmed that Village will end Ethan’s story. As for Chris Redfield, we’ll just have to wait until Resident Evil village launched on May 7.
