Last stop is a new title from publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Variable State that takes three game genres and storylines and combines them into one game. The new trailer for the “Paper Dolls” episode, shared exclusively with Digital Trends, shows a possible storyline you can join as your journey into the supernatural cinematic adventure is about to unfold on… July 22.
Annapurna Interactive is a publisher known for promoting developers with very unique philosophies when it comes to game design. Some of their most notable titles are Journeys, Wild outsideand Gorogoa among others.
Last stop Narrative is an anthology television series. You control different characters, all of whom share a very strange world. Stories that take place in these worlds put the player in a body swap, a secret agent, and a girl being sucked into an alien life.
In particular, Paper Dolls puts you in the shoes of two neighbors swapping bodies – similar to Freaky Friday – by an unknown third party. The two must work together to make everything seem as discreet as possible while finding a way to return and eventually travel across the galaxy.
As seen through previous game demos, the game is a third-person interactive adventure similar to Telltale games like Zombie and it Batman series. You control characters throughout their story, completing various mini-games to success, and choosing from banks of dialogue to continue with the plot.
Last stop Not the only anticipated title coming from Annapurna Interactive. Lost, a third-person adventure title that puts you in control of a feral cat also has gamers awaiting release. They also have a first person shooter platform coming soon White neon and Groundhog’s Day-like twelfth Minute released later this year.
Last stop Coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on July 22.
