One of these vehicle-related challenges is that you may not be familiar with Fortniteseason 6, week 5 requires you to modify vehicles with off-road tires. Just as many challenges that popped up throughout the season, the game didn’t do a good job explaining how this mechanic works.
Luckily, we’ve got all the details on how to upgrade vehicles in the game’s latest season. Here’s how to modify a vehicle with clear terrain tires Fortnite.
How to modify a vehicle with terrain tires
The first thing you need to know about this challenge is that you can complete it in Battle Royale or Team Rumble modes. Simply put, Team Rumble tends to be the best, as you can come back if you get eliminated. But luckily, the challenge is simple enough that you won’t have much trouble completing it quickly, even if you’re in a match against Solos.
However, launch a match type of your choice and visit one of the garages denoted by the tire icons above (thanks Fortnite.gg as always). Choose one of the ways to stay away so you are less likely to be involved by other enemy players. Grounded by the garage, and there will be a car inside surrounded by piles of tires. Use a tire slitter and you will be able to collect an item called “Vehicle Mode: Terrain Tire”.
For this challenge you will need to modify three cars, so select a total of three tires and they will appear in your inventory in the lower right corner of the screen. Select the tire and you’ll have the option to throw it using the correct trigger. If you throw it at a vehicle (drivable cars – wheels with wheel starters won’t count), you will be able to modify them.
Thats all there is to it. Just throw the tire at the car and it will be modified with large tires, which will count towards the challenge. Just do this twice more and you will get credit for completing quests. If you have trouble finding more vehicles, try visiting the other stations shown in the map above. They have cars and tires coming in constantly, so you’ll have a guaranteed way to get the job done reliably.
Though if you were to simply walk around each garage area, there would normally be other vehicles scattered about. Another thing to note is that your progress varies from match to match, so if you only manage to modify one vehicle before the end of the game, don’t worry. You can resume where you left off in another match. Once you’ve modified the three vehicles, you’ll get 24,000 XP for your troubles.
