The next set of Fortnite the challenges are live and ready to go, this time season 7, week 11. These objectives take you around and focus on aliens, alien artefacts and discs – these are all highlights of season 7. One of the challenges later in the week is marking an alien parasite, which may or may not cause some difficulty depending on familiarity yours with the season.
Alien artifacts are creatures scattered across the map in specific locations, so if you’re not looking for them specifically, they can be easily missed. Once you know what they look like, though, you can easily spot (or hear) them as you play. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find them, what they look like, and everything you need to know about completing the challenge. This is how to mark an alien parasite in Fortnite.
Alien parasites are living creatures scattered around the world in Fortnite. Use the map above (thanks, Fortnite.gg) to see all of their locations. For the purposes of this challenge, all you have to do is find and tick one of them. The weird thing about this challenge is that you can’t go to an alien parasite to mark it – you have to attack them first instead. That’s because all creatures start out as green eggs, which only hatch when attacked.
The problem is that if you approach and attack with your pickaxe, they will probably stick to your head, draining all of your health, but giving you a speed boost. For that reason, we recommend that you bring some kind of weapon to be able to shoot the eggs to hatch them. Then you can easily bookmark them. Just make sure you don’t accidentally ping the egg as it won’t count for the challenge. Only pink creatures with big eyes count, so keep that in mind. If the creature clings to your head, it’s not the end of the world, but it can be frustrating if you’re actively looking to win a match.
After the eggs hatch, use left of the D-pad to mark the alien parasite. One thing to keep in mind is that they have a tendency to jump around so it can be difficult to mark them off. Just keep sending spam left on the D-pad while aiming in their direction to make sure you mark them correctly. Once done, you’ll complete the challenge and earn 30,000 XP for doing so.
