It’s a new week, which means the next list of Fortnite The challenges are here for you to complete. This week’s challenges can be a bit of a hassle because they take you to specific, unmarked locations on the map. But luckily, most of them can be done fairly quickly if you know where to do it. Something that can cause you some trouble requires you to deploy alien nanites anywhere but Holly Hatchery.
If you’ve played recently, you may already know where alien nanites are deployed, while other players may not be familiar. In this guide, we’ll show you everything there is to know about completing this challenge. Here’s how to deploy alien nanites anywhere but Holly Hatchery in Fortnite.
This is one of the most complex challenges in recent memory, simply because of the number of steps required to make it work. Your first step is to be kidnapped by one of the large ships on the map. Usually, they spawn in triplets and appear in random locations. Make sure to open your maps before dropping them to see where they are (they are indicated by the saucer icon).
Once you’ve found one, make your way to a path, land on the ground below, and take shelter in a nearby house. Make sure you loot as these areas will often be busy with other people looking to complete the challenge. Eventually the ship will start you, but it takes a while for it to finish. It takes about 20 seconds (maybe more) before you’re completely abducted, so be patient and make sure someone doesn’t take you out before you’re sucked into the train.
Once you’ve joined, you’ll be put in a small room with other players. Eventually, you will be released and you will find yourself in a large area with different “islands” that you can jump to. This low-gravity area is home to a mini-game that requires you to collect golden orbs (or wait for the timer to run out). Try your best to collect five orbs before the other team finishes everything quickly. After the minigame ends, you will be transported to a room with tons of huge chests, and this is where you will have a chance to collect alien nanites.
Go around the room opening all the chests you come across and you’ll find high tier weapons, along with tons of loot. Watch out for alien nanites, which are small, throwable cube-like items. To complete the challenge you need to deploy three of them, so keep looting in this room to find as many nanites as you can. You’re on a timer, so chances are you won’t be able to rally the three before you get kicked out, but do your best.
After the timer counts down to zero, you’ll be kicked out and back on the regular map, so glide down as usual until you hit the ground. Here you can throw your alien nanites anywhere you want – just make sure you’re not in Holly Hatchery, as the challenge description states. These alien nanites basically give you low gravity features in the box parameters, like in Holly Hatchery.
All you have to do is throw one down and the game will give you credit. But remember, you need to deploy three, so you might run into some trouble if you can’t collect the necessary amount from motherhood. Either way, if you only get one or two, you can repeat the steps from above to collect the remaining nanites in a separate match. It’s a long and arduous process as it’s easy to get taken out while you wait to be kidnapped, but with a little luck you’ll get into motherhood with some problems.
From there, you just have to hope you get lucky with the alien nanite drop rate from the crates after the minigame. It’s not clear what the drop rate is, but when we tried it, we only got one, so we had to repeat the process to collect the rest. Some players have reported getting more than one, so chances are you only need to try once.
