The latest series of Fortnite The challenges are live, but this week brings something new. Besides the standard punch card missions this season, players will also have to complete a series of challenges to unlock the various Cube Queen cosmetics that are part of the battle. These quests are different from previous NPC quests, as you don’t need to go to The Cube Queen to start the quest. Instead, purchase battle passes and complete related challenges to unlock fancy new skins and items.
With this tied to The Cube Queen, most quests involve visiting The Sideways, which can be tricky if you’re not familiar with how it works. In this guide, we’ll show you everything you need to know about completing these new challenges. Here are The Cube Queen challenges and how to complete them in Fortnite.
Like the previous battle pass unlocks, The Cube Queen’s challenges appear on two different pages for a total of eight challenges. You must complete all the challenges on page 1 to unlock page 2, typically Fortnite. Here are the challenges you need to complete and the items you can earn as rewards.
- Skins of the Cube Queen: Survive five storm circles while carrying a Sideways weapon
- Last Cube Standing emoji: Eliminate a player using the Sideways Minigun
- Queen’s Court loading screen: Shake up two opponents
- Blocks vortex bling blocks: Use Shadow Stone or Flopper to brew for three seconds near a player
- Reality Render Hoe: Deal 150 damage to the player using Sideways Scythe
- Regal Visage . Spray: Complete Bounty from Bounty Table
- Queen’s Anthem Runway: Get two shots with the Sideways Rifle
- Queen’s Procession glider: Glide through smoke stacks at Steamy Stacks
Survive five stormy circles while carrying a Sideways weapon
Getting things started is a simple goal. Visit The Sideways – marked by large orange and pink circles on the map – and collect one of the weapons from the chest or as a drop. We recommend collecting a Sideways Minigun, if possible, as you’ll need it for a later challenge. Once you’ve collected the weapons, just survive a total of five circles, which will take you to the end of the match. As long as you play it safe and don’t engage enemies until you absolutely have to, you should be fine.
Eliminate a player using the Sideways Minigun
If you followed the steps from the first challenge, you should have a Sideways shotgun at this point. Otherwise, go to The Sideways and find the Minigun. You can also collect one from an eliminated player, so you have a few options. Miniguns aren’t great, but if you damage players with a better weapon than before, you can switch to a Minigun to finish them off.
Shake up two opponents
Launch a team-based mode like Duos, Trios or Squad and play as usual. When you come across a player being knocked down, take them down by interacting with them, and you’ll see enemies around. Do this with two different opponents and you will complete the challenge.
Use Shadow Stone or Flopper to brew for three seconds near a single player
There are several ways to accomplish this, but the easiest way is to visit one of the crash locations, scattered across the map. These are areas of pink flow where you will find small consumable purple pellets. These are Shadow Stones and they basically give you the ability to dash around. Save this item until you come across an opponent and then hover around them to complete this challenge.
Deal 150 damage to the player using Sideways Scythe
When visiting The Sideways, look out for the Sideways Scythe, a heavy melee weapon that can spawn in chests. Dealing 150 damage isn’t too hard, but it might take more than one opponent to get enough. Best try this in team based mode so your teammates can distract opponents while you get close.
Complete the bounty from the bounty table
Bonus has been received Fortnite for a long time, so you’re probably familiar with how they work. Above is a map of all the Bounty Boards on the island, so visit one and interact with it to begin the quest. To complete the Bonus you will need to get rid of a random player so we recommend trying this in a team based mode so you have plenty of redundancy.
Get two hits to the head with Sideways Rifle
Again, you’ll need to get the Sideways Rifle from The Sideways, so come back when you’re ready and loot some chests. When you come across one, leave the area and look out for the player. You don’t necessarily have to get two headers on different opponents – the same player will. It’s best to try to shoot at a downed opponent as they are easier targets.
Glide through the smoke stacks at Steamy Stacks
For the ultimate challenge, head to one of the large smoke stacks at Steamy Stacks and jump off the pedestal inside. Doing so will send you into the air, giving you credit for completing the challenge. After completing all the challenges, you will receive The Cube Queen’s Obliterator skin, along with Islandbane, Cubic Vortex back bling, Reality Render pickaxe, Queen’s Procession, etc.
