Sony Santa Monica has finally revealed the long-awaited sequel of 2018 God of War restart. The game, officially named God of War: Ragnarok Kratos will battle the Norse gods and Freya, Baldur’s poor mother, whom Kratos killed in the end. God of War.
The game’s first trailer shows Kratos and his son preparing to stop Ragnarok by saving Tyr, the Norse God of War. Kratos’ son also plays a big part in the trailer, and has grown since then God of War. Some sparse gameplay was also shown in today’s trailer. Kratos’ return ax will still be available in God of War: Ragnarok, along with his Blades of Chaos, seems to have received several upgrades since the first game. Players can now use the blades to grapple over higher ledges or onto enemies.
Similarly, the world of Midgard has evolved since God of War. Driven by Ragnarok, the mythical land is trapped in winter, with much of the water that Kratos and his son sailed through in the first game already frozen. Instead of using a boat for a walk, the father and son duo now have a sled pulled by two wolves. Players seem to be discovering more about Midgard in Ragnarok, with multiple environments shown in the trailer.
God of War: Ragnarok There is no release date in the PlayStation Showcase, but it is likely to launch around 2022. It was originally slated to launch in 2021 before being pushed back.
