There’s nothing worse than dealing with an annoying villager Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Well, maybe yes, but you’re probably thinking of kicking one of them off your island. Sometimes the little nickname they give you can be misleading, and you just can’t take it anymore. How exactly do you delete them?
Currently, there is no quick and easy method that guarantees 100% that a villager will be kicked off your island. In fact, whether a villager thought of moving seemed a bit of a coincidence. Many players have their own theories that are supposed to be effective, but there are still a lot of things that go wrong. For example, some have claimed that hitting a villager in the head with a net will make them mad at you, leading to them asking to move. Others have said that complaining to Isabelle during the Residential Service could cause a villager to flee. Both of these are not true. However, there are several methods that seem to be effective.
You will know a villager ready to move out when they have a cloud over their heads. After talking to them, they will tell you that they’ve been thinking of moving out and if you agree, they’ll leave the island in a few days. To speed up this process, try one of the following methods.
Your villagers can often be found walking around the island. Under normal circumstances, you may tend to approach them to initiate a conversation. However, if you want a villager to move outside, don’t make contact with them. Try to avoid starting the conversation and even keep your distance. Instead, talk to other villagers. Some players will build fences around villagers’ homes to keep them trapped so you don’t accidentally bump into them.
The strange thing is that some villagers may ask to move even if you talk to them every day. That is why many players believe it is random. Either way, you will end up being reminded of a villager if you ignore them.
Another method requires you to have the amiibo Animal Crossing card. These cards can be ordered online and are included in blind packages. Or, you can get specific tags from eBay dealers. One possible option is to use the amiibo card to replace a character on your island. To do this, navigate to Residential Services and interact with the device. Choose Amiibo option and request any tags you have. However, you need to check and make sure it’s a villager, not a worker like Tom Nook or Isabelle.
Once selected, they will go on a trip to visit your city as a camper. Fulfill all of their needs and requirements and continue to drive them to move in. At some point, they’ll accept and move the next day, as long as you have more space. Remember that you can only have ten villagers living on your island at a time, so choose wisely.
Of course, if your island has reached its maximum capacity, you will be asked to replace a villager with the requested one from the amiibo card. The good news is that you can choose the villagers they replace by negotiating with them. You will notice a list of your villagers pop up, allowing you to decide who will give the boot. This technique also works well with random campers, but the downside is you’ll have to wait for these to arrive. With the amiibo card, you can take specific villagers in your spare time.
