Despite being one of the most popular battle royale games out there, Call of Duty: Warzone there are a lot of lesser known features that most players tend to overlook. One thing that you may have missed is the Expert Bonus, a limited-time support that greatly improves your performance while playing. The Expert bonus was in the game before but was removed in 2020, before the big season 3 update. Now, with the season 3.5 update called Reloaded, the power has returned to the game and players have enjoyed it.
In this guide, we’ll show you everything you need to know about the Expert Bonus, including how to unlock it, its functionality, and some tips for using it effectively. This is how to get the Expert Reward in Battlefield.
What is the Expert Bonus?
The Expert Bonus is a power-up that grants the player all the perks in the game at once. This gives you a big advantage over other players, as you can get useful perks that you might not otherwise use – especially since Ghost and Overkill are meta. Being able to use High Alert alongside Pointman and all the others makes it easy to rise to the top in any given game.
But on top of that, the Expert Bonus also grants players weapon perks, though the power-ups are a bit more complicated. Based on testing, it looks like the Expert Bonus gives you Frangible-Washing, Mo’Money, Recon, Heavy Hitter, FMJ, Presence of Mind, and Sleight of Hand. In addition to all the perks of that weapon, players with the Expert Bonus get a 10% increase in movement speed, which is key.
The biggest problem with the Expert Bonus is that it only gives you weapon perks for Modern War weapon. This is because weapons from that game are the only ones that support perks as attachments, unlike weapons from Black Ops’ Cold War. So if you’re going to prioritize getting the Expert Bonus, you should consider gearing Modern War alternative weapons. This can be difficult because so many meta weapons come from Cold War, but there are still plenty of great Modern Warfare guns like the Kar98k and CR-56 AMAX. You get player perks regardless – you won’t reap all the benefits of the power-ups if you’re running Cold War weapon.
Remember that the Expert Bonus only applies to your character during that lifetime. When you die, you will drop the bounty and it will show up as an item that can be picked up by anyone, including your opponents. The cool thing is that if the enemy takes you out and takes it, you can get it back by taking revenge on that player. Essentially, the power stays active for the duration of the match – it just moves to whichever player chooses it.
How to unlock the Expert Bonus
Now that you know how the Expert Bonus works, you can decide if it’s worth getting. To get it, you need to first go to the limited time point of interest called Nakatomi Tower from Die hard movie. This is the heart of Downtown and is surrounded by three contracts for side quests called Unfinished Business. This area was added as part of the 3.5 Reloaded update and will remain until season 4 drops.
To get the Expert Reward, you need to complete one of these unfinished Business side quests. The good thing is that many players already do this, so picking one of the contracts will be significantly easier than when the update first came out. When someone chooses a contract, the contract ends for the rest of the match, which means you’ll have to ask one of the others to try again. If all three have run out, you’ll need to try again in another game, but at this point in the season it shouldn’t be too hard to get straight to one of these contracts before the other.
Completing the quest is pretty straightforward and works like a scavenger hunt. It will help you open three chests spread around the Nakatomi Tower, and when you open the last one, you will receive a keycard. It is best to familiarize yourself with the layout of the building so that you can quickly get to each chest level for the side quest. Once done, you will need to bring your keycard to the 31st floor to open the vault.
The easiest way to get to the 31st floor is to go to the ground floor and take the zipline in the elevator up to the 30th floor. Once here, just go up one floor and find the vault on the north side of the building. You will be prompted to unlock the vault door, and when you do, you will be able to enter. Here you’ll find a pile of cash, along with three safes. The Expert Bonus is on the first time, so open it and the power will appear. Please note that you can get an Expert Bonus for each member of your party in this room, which is highly effective in dominating the match. This is especially true since the area isn’t as popular as it used to be, making it much easier to win an Expert Bonus for the whole team.
This region can be accessed in all modes across Verdansk, so take advantage and try it out during the off-season. Unfortunately, this means it won’t appear on Rebirth, but perhaps Raven will implement a new method of gaining power in a future season. Also, it’s also possible that a new method of getting the Expert Rewards will be added to Verdansk after the next big update, so keep an eye out for that.
