With a Rathian-like roar, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is burning Nintendo Switch and computer in just a few days. However, eager players need not wait to begin their Monster adventure. Capcom has released a demo that gives players a chance to play through the beginning of the game. Best of all, progress will be carried over to the final release.
Of course, the first step is to download Monster Hunter’s Tale 2 demo from the Nintendo eShop. Launch the store and find the product page for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. On the right, you will see options to pre-order the game and download the demo. The file is only 2.8Gb (compared to 14.5Gb for the full game), so it won’t take up much space and will be ready quickly on a high-speed internet connection.
After you download the demo, feel free to play and enjoy the game as usual. This trial version allows you to customize your rider and play from the beginning of the game. You can forge armor, hatch and evolve monster companions, and join battle.
The Monster Hunter’s Tale 2 The demo has a few limitations. Connecticat, which supports multiplayer, will not be available. Amiibo functionality is also offline.
There is also a level limit. The demo won’t let your character pass level 11. It won’t stop you from playing, but it will stop counting experience points. The demo isn’t timed, but you’ll eventually hit an endpoint, and that’s where you’ll likely import your saves from.
Any saves you create in Monster Hunter 2 The demo can be downloaded from the full version of the game.
The demo is limited to a single save zone, instead of the three that will be available in the full version of Monster Hunter’s Tale 2. When you get to the end of the demo, a window will open and ask if you want to “Save your current game progress?”
You are given the option for either Saving or Cancel. Canceling allows you to continue with the demo, but you cannot continue the story.
If you choose Saving , then the game will generate your final save file and you won’t be able to use it to play the demo anymore. You will need to wait until you play the full version of Monster Hunter’s Tale 2 To continue.
The game does not save automatically. If you change your mind and want to continue playing, you can load the autosave from before the end of the demo, but keep in mind that any subsequent saves will overwrite files in one of your save slots.
After you have the full version of Monster Hunter’s Tale 2, importing your save data is really easy. First, launch the game. There will be options to choose from, such as your preferred language, etc. Finally, you will come to the title screen.
If you have a save from the demo, there’s an option at the bottom of the menu called Switch from Demo. Select it, and you’ll see a pop-up, asking if you want to continue. Choose Curriculum vitaeand the game will import your save, allowing you to pick up where you left off.
