In a surprise announcement on Twitter, publisher Gearbox announced that the developer Heart Machine has a 2016 sequel. Hyper Light Driftr in the works. Title Hyper Light BreakerThe game will enter Steam Early Access in the spring of 2023.

Based on Steam page of the gamewhere it might have been listed desired, Hyper Light Breaker doesn’t seem to be completely different from Hyper Light Drifter. Players will once again hunt for monsters and create structures along the way, all with the goal of dethroning the King of the Abyss. Even so, breakthrough compared to its predecessor, Hyper Light Breaker moving into the third dimension.
While it’s not shown properly in the trailer shared by Gearbox today, we do get a brief look at it. Hyper Light Breakerits 3D world via its Steam page. In a short clip at the end of the game’s description, you can see a lanky character running through a lush forest. Just below that is an image of an urban area that appears to have been overgrown with trees, ferns, and other plants.
And after the last Heart Machine game, Solar ashit seems that the developer is paying attention to the fashion movement to Hyper Light Breaker. Players will be able to glide through walls, glide, and drive hover vehicles through the game’s various landscapes. Between these rides, players will also be able to stop at The Set Payment, a hub filled with NPCs where upgrades can be applied, making Breakers even stronger on their next run.
