Justice Department recovers millions of dollars from colonial pipeline hack thuộc
The Justice Department said on Monday that it had recovered most of the ransom paid to hackers who shut down Colonial Pipeline’s computer systems last month.
The Department of Justice, working with our partners, is committed to using all of our tools – all the tools at our disposal to disrupt these networks and the abuse of our infrastructure. The online layer allows this threat to exist. Following Colonial Pipeline’s prompt notice to law enforcement and following a forfeiture order issued by the U.S. Northern District Court for the Northern District of California earlier today, the Department of Justice found and recovered most of the ransom Colonial paid to the DarkSide network following the ransomware attack last month.
