Knockout City became a huge success, attracting over 5 million players just weeks after its release. Unlike many other multiplayer games on the market, “dodgebrawler” from Velan Studios doesn’t focus on guns, large battlefields, or impressive player numbers. Instead, it cuts the mayhem down to the basics – providing a simple team-based formula that breathes new life into the current competitive market.
It’s available on most last-gen and current-gen consoles, but you might worry that you won’t be able to get in on the action with friends who own other systems. Crossplay has become a growing problem over the past few years, and only certain developers allow PC players to join their friends on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
Fortunately, Knockout City Has a strong cross-play system and cross-progress. Here’s what you need to know before participating in a cross-platform match.
By default, crossplay and cross progress are enabled in Knockout City. That means as soon as you launch the game, you will be able to play with “dodgebrawlers” on other platforms.
“With crossplay and cross progress on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch as well as PS5 and Xbox X | S (backward compatible), you can fight with your friends anywhere, anytime.” Velan Studios announced. You won’t need to do anything to activate the feature – just launch into a match and you’ll be paired with players on all available consoles.
It also means you can invite friends on other platforms to your match. Once they have been added to yours Knockout City friends list, just find their banner and choose Invite to the group. You can also join their Group if you have one.
If you don’t want to play with people on other systems, Knockout City gives you an easy way to disable crossplay. Here’s what you need to do:
- Go to the main menu.
- Scroll down Setting.
- Navigate to Social setting navigation.
- Find Crossplay options and choose Handicapped.
We strongly recommend enabling crossplay as it provides a larger pool of players to sort through during matchmaking, reducing your waiting time. However, if you’re a console player who doesn’t want to befriend someone on PC, Knockout City makes it easy to limit your matches.
In addition to crossplay, Knockout City gives you the option to transfer your character across multiple platforms. If you decide to switch the console you’re playing on, simply log in with your previous Knockout City ID and all your information and progress will be carried over to your new system.
That means if you’re currently playing on Xbox One and decide to upgrade to PS5, all the hard-earned rewards will follow you. It’s a powerful feature and we’re happy to see it included Knockout City.
