Announced at the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, the latest title from developer Sloclap is slated for release on February 22, 2022. Sifu was originally scheduled for release sometime this year.
Originally announced this past February, Sifu Put the player in the shoes of a young boxer. Details on the game are few and far between, so we don’t know what motivates him yet, but he can fiercely hit enemies with a variety of attacks and weapons, both classic and environmental. .
The game’s appearance at Sony’s July State of Play showcase wasn’t just to announce its delay – one of the game’s key elements was also explained there. As the player fights and is sure to be defeated, their character will progress with age. However, age comes with wisdom, and in this case, wisdom means better fighting technique. It’s unclear exactly how getting older will affect players in Sifu, but the change can be more than aesthetic. We may learn more about Sifu as we get closer to the game’s release date.
With the new release date, Sifu is the latest title to be released in the coming February. Two other titles shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live today also have release dates that month. The upcoming reboot titled Saints Row will be out on February 25th, while Forbidden Horizon in the West has also been pushed back to February 18.
When it launches this coming February, Sifu will be available on PlayStation 4, PS5 and PC.
