After you complete the story mode in Mortal Kombat 11 and its Aftermath DLC, as well as its success in Klassic Towers and Towers of Time, you’ll spend most of your time in the game’s Krypt. This third-person exploration area contains a large number of the game’s custom items and equipment, and if they’re available in Krypt, you won’t find them in other modes. Krypt can be overwhelming when you are just getting started, as it is filled with secret passages, many types of chests and puzzles, but with Mortal Kombat 11 Guide to Krypt, you can understand all and get the device for your dreams.

How Krypt works
The Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt is essentially a giant dungeon filled with treasures and you are invited to collect as much as possible. Running along the walls and in the middle of nearly every area you explore are chests that can be opened with Koins currency that you have accumulated during your time in the other game modes.
The cost of opening chests in Krypt is directly related to the value of the items inside. Chests that cost 2,000 Koins will contain small items like development art or music, while chests that cost around 8,000 Koins or more can hold equipment, enhancement items, or character-specific skins. You can obtain more Koins in Krypt by smashing some objects – plus that below – and by opening up new paths, but the main way you will get more Koins is to return to the Tower. and fight against the enemy.
There are two other currencies in Krypt – Heart and Soul Fragment. The heart is used to open rare chests that can be spotted by the creepy mask lying above them. This must be smashed, and then you can spend 250 Hearts to unlock content. They contain some of the best rewards in the entire game, including some customization for a single character. To obtain Heart, you can perform Deaths in battles and you can destroy bodies found hanging in Krypt itself using the Scorpion’s Spear.
The Soul Fragments are used to unlock the green Soul Chests you will start encountering right after starting Krypt. You will accumulate these through casual play and sometimes to complete certain missions in Krypt, but you won’t be able to use them to open Soul Chests until you get your Soul Charm Ermac. Don’t worry about them until you move further into Krypt.
The main items to find

Much of your progress in Krypt is tied to important items scattered across the vast map. These things differ in usage but pertains to allowing you to keep advancing into new areas and unlock better devices. Below, we’ve detailed the most important items you’ll discover and what they allow you to do. They are listed in order when you should buy them.
Shao Kahn’s Hammer
Shao Kahn’s Hammer can’t be missed, as it is right in front of you when you first enter Krypt. The hammer is what you will use to break damaged walls and doors, and you will find one in the same room. It is important for you to look for damaged areas as you progress, as you will often find the huge rooms behind them filled with treasure.
You can also use Shao Kahn’s Hammer to destroy the pots and skeletons scattered throughout Krypt. This will reward you with a small amount of Koins, but it’s tiny so it will make very little difference in the number of chests you can open.
Gem of the Living and Cracked Horn of the Motaro
The Gem of the Living is a special item you need to get deeper into Krypt and into Goro’s lair, home to some of the best treasures in the game. When you are in the outdoor area go to the center and then go north until you see an area with statues of some characters. Go forward and a meteor will smash the Raiden statue. Use hammer to hit the meteorite to get the Gem of Life.
Cracked Horn of the Motaro is also required to continue to evolve into Krypt, and can only be obtained after the Gem of the Living is acquired. Use the Gem of the Living to open a door near Kronika’s Time Vault – and enter the area underground. You will find the horn behind an unlockable portal inside. With the horn, Go to Goro’s Cave Door on the western part of the outdoor area and you can enter.
Ermac’s Soul Amulet
This is the item you need to unlock the dull green glowing Soul Chests you’ve seen all over Krypt. Once you have entered Goro’s Lair, continue until you reach a giant hall with a statue in front and a party area. Go forward, go around the outside using the stairs, and in the front right corner, there will be a chain you can pull to open the gate. Do this, continue until you get a cutscene showing a stabbed man and locate him in the room. He has Ermac’s Soul Charm, and now you can open those chests.
Ermac’s Soul Amulet was also used to open up several new avenues. The first time you will use it to get out of the room where you found the amulet, it is filled with stones.
Spear of Hanzo Hasahi (Spear of the Scorpion)
Scorpion’s Spear can also be found inside Goro’s Lair, but this time you’ll have to head to the Armory area in the southeast. Once you have reached the area, search until you find a flaming vertical line that runs along a pillar. Interact with it to pull the spear and equip it.
Once you have the Scorpion’s Spear, you can use it to interact with several objects in the environment, including the draw. However, the main purpose of the spear is to pull bodies you will see dangling from your position. These have been destroyed and often contain the hearts you need to open Krypt’s valuable chests.
Smithy

Sometimes you will find ingredients when opening chests that are not used for customization or to open new paths – they are called “Forged Items” and you can find them on their own page in Krypt menu. For your first time in Krypt, they will be useless, but you will eventually find a gong that you can hit with a hammer and pave your way to the Blacksmith – it’s a terrifying area of flames. behind it, but by feeding it the materials you collect, you can generate rewards.
The reward you get is based on the combination of the materials you throw in, but you can also get nothing word Forge if you match it wrong. If you throw three items in and it gives no reward, don’t do it again, as the same result happens every time.
A blacksmith not only needs raw materials to produce anything, it also needs money. This can be in the form of Koins, Soul Fragments, and Hearts, so make sure your material combination produces something of value before you throw them into the Forge.
