After being shown during Xbox & Bethesda E3 Showcase, new content will appear Halo InfiniteDeveloper 343 Industries’ multiplayer has been further detailed by developer 343 Industries in a post on Halo Waypoint. The post closely follows the details of the game’s multiplayer, including details on new maps, weapons, and vehicles that players can expect.
Only two weapons were revealed in the Waypoint post: The Skewer and the VK78 Commando. Immediately, both have a distinct style from the guns in other Halo titles, giving them a more gritty and realistic look. The Skewer, as its name suggests, appears to fire a large spike to shoot through enemies. The weapon also has a blade that rusts like a bayonet, ensuring that if enemies don’t run past the stab, they will eventually succumb to tetanus. The commando, on the other hand, is a standard assault rifle.
Regarding the map, we had a clear view of what was on the way. Behemoth, set on a Halo ring, will transport the player into a tropical area, full of sand, palm trees, and giant precursor structures. Fragmentation takes place at a base known as “Installation 07”, and is filled with rocks to hide behind or jump above to take down enemies.
Recharge and Live Fire have a more industrial theme, with the former taking place in an old hydroelectric facility filled with open spaces. There’s a Spartan training after that, so expect an extremely balanced, if not symmetrical, map.
Finally, Bazaar, set in Mombasa. We didn’t see much of this map in the preview, so it’s hard to say exactly how it will ultimately play.
The Waypoint post also tells us about the vehicles players can expect to see in Halo Infinite. Classics like Ghost, Chopper, and Banshee are making a comeback, albeit with a new red and black metallic design. A VTOL attack helicopter called the Wasp is also being added, which can accommodate a single player and sport dual machine guns. Finally, the game adds a land vehicle in Razorback, a fork of Warthog that ditches weapons for more armor.
