After pictures of a shipping container containing Nvidia’s rumored RTX 3080 Ti were discovered this week, VideoCardz leaks new information about the upcoming card. The card is rumored to launch on May 26 for $ 999, and it will have 12GB of VRAM, and the redesigned GPU will limit the crypto mining hash rate.
You can see a leaked photo of this redesigned GPU below. That’s the GA102-225, built on top of the existing GA102 GPU inside the RTX 3080 and 3090. Besides the 3080 Ti, leaks claim that Nvidia will re-release its entire Ampere line with graphics cores. is updated in May, and those tokens will have rate-limited cryptocurrency hashes and resizable BAR support.
While Nvidia hasn’t confirmed anything yet, we’ll likely see an updated Ampere card with hashing rate limiter. After all, Nvidia also has a CMP (Crypto Mining Processor) card that the company can sell for a bummer.
That will be good news for gamers and enthusiasts, especially with how good is the RTX 3080 Ti to mine. Along with the GPU’s photo, VideoCardz also gets a screenshot of the upcoming card’s mining performance. The picture shows Ethereum’s mining hash rate of 118.9 MH / s which is much higher than most other tokens in the market. However, the specific pattern used in the screenshots has been optimized for higher memory speeds and lower TDP.
In addition to mining performance, the screenshot shows a base clock speed of 1,365MHz and a 1,665MHz boost clock speed, and it confirms that 12GB of VRAM and 10,240 CUDA cores have been rumored to be. The clock speed is a step down from both the RTX 3080 and 3090, which is likely to give it a unique space in the market among Nvidia’s high-end cards.
According to all accounts, the RTX 3080 Ti looks the same as the RTX 3090 with half the video memory, which is great. The RTX 3090’s high-priced memory and high price make it difficult to justify all of the most graphic-intensive and 3D workloads. The RTX 3080 Ti looks good-looking in average, is suitable for the 3090 in every way, but has the right amount of memory for gaming.
If that’s true, dropping the $ 500 price from $ 1,499 RTX 3090 seems like a good deal. Again, $ 1,000 is a lot for a graphics card. Thanks to the worsening supply problem, scalers are likely to have a golden age with new tokens, which could drive up prices even further.
The RTX 3070 Ti is also said to launch in May, but the latest reports hints it will launch in June. The card is rumored to come with 6,144 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6X memory on a 256-bit bus. It will launch for $ 499.
