Nvidia’s unannounced GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is coming soon, and several retailers have started listing it for sale. Polish retailer X-Kom listed MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Ventus 3X OC, which adds confidence to this photo showing rankings of these MSI cards that appeared last week. Although you can’t pre-order cards, X-Kom keeps the list since Wccftech discovered it a few days ago, showed that an announcement and pre-orders will be coming soon.
Timeline makes sense, as we have about a month left from the rumored launch date on May 26. Reports indicate that the RTX 3080 Ti will launch for $ 999 with 12GB of VRAM and core. Redesigned GPU with crypto hash rate limiter. That will make the RTX 3080 Ti less attractive to crypto miners and will hopefully push some into the Nvidia CMP (Crypto Mining Processor) range.
The listing doesn’t confirm a May 26 launch date, and it doesn’t give any indication of the price of the card. That said, the X-Kom has a notification system in place when the card comes online.
If previous Ampere launches continue, Nvidia is likely to hold a virtual event announcing the RTX 3080 Ti. The last consumer-focused event was in January during CES 2021. There, Nvidia announced the RTX 30-series and RTX 3060 laptops, and they announced the event almost a month in advance. So far, Nvidia has not announced another event.
Maybe Nvidia is trying to keep this launch in sight, as they expect demand for graphics cards to exceed supply throughout 2021. In addition to gamers and miners looking for cryptocurrencies. The latest graphics cards, the global shortage of semiconductors, tightens the supply chain and makes it harder to manufacture PC components. Some scaling groups have also become very profitable thanks to their envious graphics cards, causing cards to sometimes sell out within seconds.
Nvidia probably won’t announce the RTX 3080 Ti alone. Reports suggest the RTX 3070 Ti will launch in June, and laptops with the RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti are rumored to have been listed for sale.
The MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3X comes with a three-fan design, three DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and one HDMI 2.1 output. RTX 3080 Ti should come with analog cooling and connectivity solution. However, on the 3080, the 3080 Ti is rumored to come with 12GB of VRAM and an increase from 8,704 CUDA cores to 10,240 CUDA cores – roughly equal to the $ 1,500 RTX 3090.
