You have a big mission ahead of you as you rejoin Raz and the Psychonauts in Psychonauts 2, but there are plenty of other things in the game that will grab your attention. If you ever feel like you need a little relaxation to get into the deepest crevices of people’s minds, there are plenty of side quests and optional objectives to distract you for a bit. In addition, you can also earn yourself some achievements or trophies and PSI Challenge Marks for your effort.
Probably the hardest side quest in Psychonauts 2 given to you by none other than Raz’s family. His younger brother, Queepie, has gone missing, and it’s up to you to find him. Finding him once will be simple – too simple, it seems – that’s why Queepie will keep running away until you track him down a total of six times and ask him to return to his family at camp. You’ll get some clues as to where he’s hiding when you get close, but if you don’t know what to look for, this little guy could easily catch your eye. Here are all his hiding spots in order Psychology 2.
This quest will probably trigger while you’re playing the game, but if it doesn’t, it’s easy to get started. After you enter the Inquiry Area of the map for the first time, go to the Aquato camp, located on the right side of the map. Raz’s family, who will appear in Motherlobe at this point in the game, will move here and set up camp. You can easily track them by following the path.
Once you find Raz’s family again, talk to his mother, who will give you two optional quests, one of which is to find his lost brother, Queepie. The only clue you get is that somewhere near where Queepie is hiding, there’s radio music playing because the reason he left is to find a place to dance. The upside to it is that he won’t leave the Area of Question, so you won’t have to search the entire hub for this little guy.
Queepie’s first hideout is an easy place to kick things off. Just go outside the camp and round the waterwheel next to the horseshoe pit. Follow the music and find him sitting on a rock with his radio. Interact with him to trigger the next stage of the quest as he runs away somewhere else.
Next, locate the Sassyclops cave. From the Aquato camp, the cave is directly across from the horseshoe pit you just stayed in. Go through the cave, make your way to the end and jump over Queepie sitting on the wooden scaffolding.
The easiest way to get to the third hiding spot is to go quickly to the location of the entrance to the forest. You’ll hear the music, but figuring out where it’s really coming from is the hard part. The real queepie will be right above, in the tree. To get close to him, climb up the vines in a nearby tree, next to an arrow sign pointing down. Cross the ropes, climb some more vines and you can hop onto a wooden walkway that leads to a small covered area with Queepie below.
This time Queepie has gone quite far from camp, taking you as far as the funicular next to the Forest of Forgotten. To get to the perch this time, use the building next to the bathroom to get to a ladder that you can climb up a nearby tree. Jump to another platform with a tether on it, cross it and climb the pole to a bush that you can use to reach higher platforms. At the end of these, just walk around the platform until you reach Queepie at the end overlooking the area.
Queepie seems to have pity on us for the last few hiding spots because this one is so easily accessible. Just go to the Lumberstack Diner, jump off the roof of the car next to the building to get to the roof, and go around the top to find him stuck in traffic.
This time Queepie tried to hide a little closer to home, almost directly above his family’s camp. However, to get to his perch, you must first use your pyrokinesis to light a campfire and blow hot air so you can climb to the platform just above the camp entrance. Follow the path, use a bush to bounce further to another path and use another bush to grow out. This final path ends with a bar that you can safely grab and drop onto the platform on which Queepie is sitting. Talk to him one last time to complete this quest and earn yourself the achievement or the title of Dance, Baby, Dance.
