With the battle royale format more popular than ever, it’s no surprise that some games will borrow features from others. Anonymous Player’s Battlefield followed this trend in its latest update, adding a mechanic back to its latest map. The new system that puts defeated players in a “Return Arena” sounds weird Call of Duty: Warzoneof the gulag.
Patch 12.2 for PUBG added a new map named Taego, the same size as its first map. Players can now play on the new map in solo or squad mode, and best of all, it doesn’t have red zones or any inclement weather.
The map itself also has some unique features, like landmarks and wildlife that will react to the sound of gunfire. Its most unique elements, however, are all gameplay-focused, including the aforementioned re-spin mechanic and a new self-reviving item.
Players who die playing on Taego during the game’s first Blue Zone phase will be taken to the Comeback Arena, a separate area where survivors can battle it out. Anyone who survives long enough in this arena will be returned to the main map during the third Blue Zone phase. It should be noted that, unlike in Battlefield, this feature is only available if you’re playing as a team, leaving single players out in the cold.
Solo players looking for a second chance will have to get lucky and come across SELF AED. This new item will allow knockout players to respawn on their own and is available in both solo and team games.
Several other changes and additions were also made to PUBGPatch 12.2’s, all can be viewed on game website.
