In Exploit, the player is tasked with facing deadly infected creatures and must escape with his team to safety. Exploit will still feel like the Rainbow Six players you know and love, but this game will have a completely different theme. In it, up to three players can team up to destroy the alien parasite known as the Arcaen. Players can also experience the game alone.
With this being a Rainbow Six game, stealth, utility, and the ability to coordinate with a team will still be present. Players will be able to use stealth to pass the levels carefully. The game will have 18 Operators, each with their own skills and gadgets, like Rainbow Six Siege. Playing with a specific Operator will level them up, granting the player better stats, weapons, perks, and more. The game will feature 12 maps at launch, with multiple challenges for players to complete on each map.
Ubisoft also announced that Exploit will support cross-play, allowing players to join Arcaen regardless of platform. In addition, owners of Rainbow Six Siege will have access to all Mining of 18 Operators immediately.
Ubisoft originally intended for this game to be called Rainbow Six Quarantine, but renamed it Exploit, possibly due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was originally scheduled to launch much earlier, but is now set to release later this fall.
