Resident Evil Village Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda announced today that Resident Evil Re: Verse, The upcoming multiplayer mode of the survival horror title, will release sometime in July on all supported platforms. This mode will be freely accessible to everyone who owns Resident Evil Village and will feature characters from throughout the franchise. Capcom also announced that due to player demand, DLC is working for Resident Evil Village, but did not provide any additional information or release date.
In a single screenshot at the end Resident Evil E3 segment, Capcom revealed that they are in the process of making DLC for Resident Evil Village. No additional information was provided, but Capcom promised “more information will be available later”. Development has only just begun working on the DLC, which means it may be a while before fans hear anything else. Initial fan reaction seems to be positive.
Resident Evil Re: Verse was previously announced in January 2021. The mode allows players to compete in 6v6 death matches against a variety of characters from before Resident Evil Game. This mode will be available everywhere Resident Evil Village playable. Fan reaction to the initial announcement was very negative, with many fans saying they’d like to see the return of Outbreak gameplay from previous titles, but Capcom seems to be pushing. Reverse. The mode will launch to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil Franchising.
Resident Evil Re: Verse will be available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, PC and Stadia, the same platforms as Resident Evil Village.
