THQ Nordic celebrated its 10th anniversary today with a showcase of new games hosted by Geoff Keighley. During the live stream, we had to watch the footage back Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed, Spongebob: Cosmic Shakes, and many other games under the THQ Nordic wing.
Spongebob: Cosmic Shakes is the newest game starring fun sponges. In the announcement trailer we saw Spongebob travel through portals to different locations and possibly new dimensions, many of them steeped in rich lore about Spongebob Squarepants TV series. First we get to see Spongebob in his band costume singing the iconic song “Sweet Victory,” but then he’s warped on what appears to be a movie, after it’s prehistoric, and even the Wild West setting.
No games were shown during the rollout, so it remains a mystery what the game will actually entail.
Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed, the remake of the sequel after Krypto took over Earth, was the first announcement in the rollout. The announcement begins with a cinematic trailer of Krypto traveling the world sowing chaos to the tune of AMERIKA by Rammstein. After the beginning of the trailer, we saw the actual gameplay of Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed, with Krypto showing off his jet set, mind control powers, and the ability to make people explode into a dancing fever.
THQ Nordic introduced several other games, including Superpower 3, Elex II, MX vs. ATX Legends, and Disqualified 2. We also took a look at the gameplay of ROMAN and Sawtooth Alliance 3, both featuring tactical turn-based combat.
