Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl is the hotly anticipated sequel to the Stalker series. The game was released 13 years after the last entry in the series, and it made its debut on consoles as an Xbox Series X exclusive.

Stalker 2: Hear of Chernobyl is set for release on April 28, 2022. The game was originally announced in 2010 after launch. Pripyat’s call. Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl is an Xbox console exclusive. The game is launching on Xbox Series X and Series S, as well as PC. When it launches, the game will be available through Xbox Game Pass. Although a release date for PlayStation 5 has yet to be announced, Internal documents leaked revealed that the game will be exclusively on consoles for three months.
However, that doesn’t mean the game will come to PS5. Tetris Effect: Connected also named in the docs with six months of panel exclusivity. This update is coming to PS4 in July, but not PS5. GSC Game World says Stalker 2 will not come to last generation systems due to limited performance capabilities.
Microsoft showed Stalker 2 during the Xbox Series X game showcase in 2020 with an in-engine trailer. It presents the desolate, desolate land through a series of striking visuals, setting the brooding tone the game is likely to have. You can check out the first trailer below.

The trailer showcases a lot of interesting gameplay systems. The first is the ability to grab attachments for your weapons around the environment and attach them instantly. It shows the player taking a scope and a silencer and equipping them instantly without going through the inventory screen.
It also shows off some enemy designs, including an updated Bloodsucker design that looks similar to Cthulhu. True to the Stalker series, the visuals look insane in the gameplay trailer. However, Microsoft did not clarify what system the game was running on.
Following up on the announcement, GSC Game World released a commentary video detailing some interesting takeaways from the revealed gameplay.
Although GSC Game World has not announced anything yet, Stalker 2 looks like it will have some sort of multiplayer. GSC is offering the “Early bird” multiplayer badge as a pre-order bonus, and the Deluxe and Ultimate versions of the game feature multiplayer and weapon skins.
We don’t have any details on multiplayer right now. Fans have been asking for co-op in the Stalker series for a while now, but that doesn’t appear to be the direction GSC is headed. With lots of unique skins and badges to get, it looks like multiplayer in Stalker 2 there will be some kind of PvP mode.
None of the previous Stalker games received DLC, but that’s changing with stalker 2. The game is set to receive two story extensions, described as “additional large-scale expansions that continue or expand on the main story”. The game will likely receive more DLC beyond the two expansions.
The Ultimate version of the game comes with a season pass, which entitles owners to “all downloadable content after its external release.” [two] expand the story. This version also includes an exclusive side quest, hinting at possible side quests through the DLC.
Also, we expect cosmetic DLC. The Deluxe and Ultimate versions of the game feature single-player and multiplayer skins and weapons. GSC Game World hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but we’ll likely see aesthetic DLC after launch.
Pre-orders for Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl now online at digital retailers. The physical versions have been announced, but they are yet to be pre-ordered. Regardless of version, all pre-orders come with an exclusive pre-order bundle, which includes extensive campfire content, exclusive weapons and armor, and the “Early bird” multiplayer badge. .
