No Bethesda game is complete without a world full of upgrades, mods, and buffs. Deathloop is no exception and improvements are mentioned in the form of Trinkets. Colt will have to upgrade himself and his arsenal if he is to take down all eight Visionaries. But what should he use Trinkets? These are the best backpacking gear in Deathloop and why you should use them.
Jewelry is divided into two categories divided into three levels of rarity. Equip a weapon that attaches to your gun and increases things like accuracy, bullet penetration, rate of fire, and damage. Character Trinkets is a passive ability that binds to Colt. They will increase his damage absorption, allowing him to jump twice and restore health and strength.
All jewels are divided into three rarity levels: Common (gray), uncommon (blue) and rare (purple). However, you will find the same Trinket set in all three rarities (see image above). The rare Hipster Trinket will be better than the uncommon version. However, you cannot stack them to increase the effect. Notice how the uncommon Hipster is locked in the same image.
You’ll find Trinkets hidden all over Blackreeef and on the bodies of dead eternalists. Kill Visionaries for a bunch of Rare Accessories that can be equipped or sacrificed for more Residuum. You will only need one copy of each Character Jewelry Set. You can sacrifice all the others.
When it comes to weapon Trinkets, you’ll need several copies of the ones listed below. These are the accessories you’ll want to equip every gun on your reload. While you can freely move Trinkets items between weapon types, having multiple copies will make your life easier. You have unlimited inventory space.
These are the top five Trinkets weapons in Deathloop. These trinkets work with most weapons. Every Trinket mentioned below assumes that you are using the rare version.
- “The distance at which your weapon deals complete damage has been significantly increased.”
Lightning Strike turns your Tribunal pistol into a sniper rifle, especially when combined with some of the other Trinkets on this list. In addition to the Court, you can also increase the explosive range of the shotgun. Pair Lighting Strike with Hipster for longer distances. Basically, Lightning Strike turns a short-range weapon into a medium-range weapon. Since most of your kills will come in the middle in Deathloop, the Lightning Strike Trinket weapon is at the top of the list.
- “Reload speed is significantly increased. Practice makes perfect.”
“Increased greatly” is a shorthand. Speedloader is close to the instant reload you will get. It is especially useful on pistols, Rapiers, and MG-1s because all three of these weapons have long reload times. If you’re one of those players that reloads after every kill (let’s face it, most of us are), the Speedloader will be your favorite weapon trinket.
- “Greatly increases the range at which this weapon is accurate.”
Again, “greatly increased” is a shorthand. In fact, we ran the entire game with a Silent Rare Court armed with Sure Shot and Lightning Strike and never broke a sweat. Sure Shot is a must-have on every weapon. Sure Shot might be overkill for snipers and Rapiers, but it’s still effective if you feel like killing all over the map.
- “Greatly reduced recoil.”
MG-1 and LIMP-10 have some effect on them. The Shock Absorber eliminates that. While you may not need it on pistols and pistols, big guns and high rate of fire weapons will use this Trinket. The most important weapon to use the Shock Absorber is the Frank’s Constancy Automatic. This weapon kicks like a mule, but if you control that recoil and equip it with Hailfire and Straight Shooter, you’re looking at a top weapon in Deathloop.
- “Aiming down at the sights takes a lot less time. Headshots have never been easier.”
Rounding out the Weapon Trinket list is the Crack Shot. Ideally, you’re playing with light snap settings. This will snap your crusaders on a target as you aim close to them. With the ADS speed boost, you’ll be locking the Eternalist’s heads off and taking them out quiet bullets.
These are the top five Trinkets characters in Deathloop. Bethesda missed the chance to add more risk-reward jewels to the game, because you’ll have a hard time Not use the Trinkets character in this list.
- “Only a whisper sound while moving. Be the night breeze”.
Creeping Death is Trinket’s best character in Deathloop, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Bethesda took it down a week. Creeping Death eliminates the need to crouch as you can quickly rush to and assassinate any Eternalist not in direct contact with you. Try using any other Trinket, and you’ll quickly learn how confident you are in Creeping Death.
- “Dance in mid-air. A classic maneuver. “
Spring Heeled is the first rare character you will find and it will stick with you throughout the game. Colt’s double jump will reach inaccessible places like second-story windows and wall ledges. These vantage points help take down your enemies and make navigating Blackreef a whole lot easier. Again, try not using it and see how quickly you get back to it.
- “Move at great speed. Ride the wind.”
The sprinter is the first interchangeable perk on the list. If you’re running errands around Blackreef and aren’t interested in killing anything right now, the Sprinter will get you from A to B very quickly. Combined with Creeping Death, you will bounce among the Eternalists like the wind.
- “Greatly reduces the damage taken.”
Deathloop is a game like Soul and rule number 1 of Dark souls is no damage. Therefore, anything that can increase Colt’s HP or damage absorption is a Trinket that you should use.
So why do we prefer Turtle Shells, such as Comeback Kid, which allows you to regenerate more total health, or Never Say Die, which increases your overall HP? For starters, recovery isn’t something we’re too worried about Deathloop. With Fiz Pop boxes and stations around every corner, it shouldn’t be hard to refill HP before heading into the next gunfight. However, there’s no reason you shouldn’t use Turtle Shell with Comeback Kid or Never Say Die. We recommend you do.
- “Harvest large amounts of Vacuum from all sources. Yummy.”
You will not use this Trinket unless you are walking the Residuum collection. With equipment Golden Harvest, you will collect 15% more Residuum from all sources. You are effectively earning 11,500 Residuum from dead Visionaries instead of 10,000 base. Don’t forget to take it off when you’re hunting down hard-to-kill Visionaries. If you’ve found Charlie and Fia’s secret hideout, head into it with the Nexus Slab, the Aether Slab, a single-shot weapon, and the Golden Harvest for an easy 23,000 Residuum.
