Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is the latest installment in the Borderlands franchise. The game takes place later Attack on Dragon Keep DLC for border zone 2 and features everyone’s favorite 13-year-old wrecker, Tiny Tina. In a world designed and controlled by Tiny Tina, Wonderland takes players through a fantasy realm to shoot down bad guys, collect loot, and battle the infamous Dragon Lord.
To keep you up to date on this upcoming shooter, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about Tina’s miracles. Details are scarce at the moment, but we do have a bit of info on release date, gameplay, multiplayer, and pre-orders.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands release date
Gearbox has not announced a release date for Tiny Tina’s Wonderland not yet. So far, we only have a release deadline of “early 2022”, or more specifically, in the fourth quarter of the Take-Two Interactive financial year. That means we should see the game between January and March 2022.
All we can do is speculate at this point for the specific date. We expect the game to launch towards the end of the quarter, sometime in March. The first two months of the year are typically the dry season, and when March arrives, a few releases kick in to a series of games that will keep players busy for the rest of the year. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands could start the hot season in 2022.
However, it is possible that the game will launch later this year. No Borderlands games have been delayed, but Borderlands 3 Director’s Cut was delayed by three weeks in early 2021. With game delay status in 2021, Wonderland can also be repulsed.
What platforms will Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands be released on?
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a cross-generational game, released simultaneously on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC. Unlike Borderlands 3, Wonderland will be available on the Epic Games Store and Steam on PC at launch.
Looks like Tiny Tina is also getting a bit of a nerf for the game. 2K and Gearbox announced the game had been rated T for Teen by the ESRB, though it did not clarify what gave the game that rating. In all likelihood, Wonderland there won’t be as many curses as the main Borderlands games.
Gearbox announced and introduced the first trailer for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands transparent E3 2021. The trailer doesn’t feature any gameplay, but it shows off the iconic Borderlands mobile shading art style and great setting of the game.
The trailer also shows off the game’s all-star cast. Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes, Ashly Burch and Will Arnett play the four main characters in the game. Samberg as “stubborn captain” Valentine; Sykes as Frette, a robot obsessed with rules; Burch plays Tina Tiny; and Arnett plays the Dragon Lord, who looks like the main antagonist of the game.
“Between Gearbox’s evolving talent and the undeniable star power of the cast, we couldn’t be more excited about this game,” said 2K President David Ismailer.
The game takes place right after Attack on Dragon Keep DLC for Border Zone 2, but Gearbox didn’t reveal any other story details. If the game is built on Dragon Keep, Wonderlands will take place in the setting of a board role-playing game. A press release hints at this, saying Tiny Tina “makes the rules, changes the world on the fly, and guides players on their journey.”
Game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
The Tina Wonderlands Tiny Tina The announcement trailer doesn’t show any gameplay, but it looks like the game shares the same circuit as the main Borderlands titles. The press release describes the game as an “epic high fantasy film about the shooter genre.” Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford says that players will be able to use “realistic Borderlands guns to battle dragons, skeletons, goblins and more in an original fantasy world.” He also said it’s a “full-featured AAA video game.”
While we expect a big focus on guns, it’s not the only way to deal with your enemies in Wonderland. In addition to guns, players will be able to exploit magical and melee weapons. It is currently unknown whether these weapons are similar to guns in the game Borderlands. We expect a dedicated melee weapon alongside your main gun and various spells you can equip, though Gearbox has yet to confirm anything.
For the first time in the Borderlands franchise, players can customize their own characters. The game will allow players to create and customize their own “multi-glass hero”, suggesting that you can choose between different paths and upgrade abilities. The main Borderlands games have class-specific upgrade paths, but things seem to flow a little more smoothly Wonderland. You’ll be able to define your class as you unlock more abilities.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is “a completely standalone experience with a rich, story-driven co-op campaign for up to four players.” With the sound of the game being similar to Borderlands, you’ll be able to join the experience alone or with a group of friends. Hopefully the game will have an enhanced loot system introduced in Borderlands 3, give each player their own loot corresponding to their level.
Borderlands co-op thrives with different character classes, so it’s not clear how Wonderland‘multi-glass approach will come into play in co-op. Aside from co-op, we’re not expecting a PvP mode or anything like that, though it looks like players will be able to work together to tackle the late game content once the main story is over. end.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands there will be “repeatable end-game content”, which we imagine will be supported via DLC. The Borderlands franchise has a long history of DLC, and Wonderland probably won’t change that. border zone 2 received five DLC campaigns, the last of which was released seven years after the main game and many other DLC packs. Borderlands 3 currently still supported, two years after launch.
As a spin-off of Borderlands, Wonderland may not get much support after launch. However, the game is described as a full-featured AAA release, so we expect at least a few pieces of DLC to come out in the years following launch.
Gearbox hasn’t announced any pre-order information yet Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands not yet. In line with previous Borderlands releases, we expect multiple versions of the game with exclusive content and season tickets. Borderlands 3 received a collector’s edition that features a replica of the loot chest, a custom lithograph, and some character models and we could see something similar to Wonderland.
As for when the pre-orders go into effect, we expect to see them in the second half of 2021. Gearbox will likely release a gameplay trailer or dive into the mechanics later in the year. Now, it’s possible to line up with pre-order start dates.
