The title The Vampire: The Masquerade teased by developer Sharkmob last year was officially announced at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Festival 2021. The game has an official name. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, and will be the franchise’s first multiplayer title.
Typically, entries in the Vampire: The Masquerade series are text-heavy, role-oriented super RPGs. Bloodhunt be whatever, instead presenting itself as a battle royale title. Armed to the teeth with pistols, swords, assault rifles and, well, to the teeth, players will be able to put together the last vampire standing. Besides weapons, players will also be able to use supernatural vampire powers to take down their enemies.
The game takes place in the city of Prague, where the player will fight to the last of the undead to restore the Masquerade, a code in which vampires live to hide themselves from the outside world. A trailer for the game shows vampires running up walls and jumping over rooftops, which means we can expect some freedom of movement. It looks like the citizens of Prague will be out on the field, perhaps to give the players a boost.
Naturally, players will also be able to choose which clan their vampire belongs to. Today’s trailer for the game shows vampires from Brujah and Nosferatu openly fighting, so expect to see a bunch of bloodsuckers. Character customization will also be available, allowing players to dress up their vampires in the latest style, whether it’s chic horror or modern gothic.
