The World Video Game Hall of Fame has announced this year’s finalists are set to join the ranks of the most legendary titles of all time. Among the participants in this new hall were The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (and the time has come).
The World Video Game Hall of Fame is a program that aims to further illuminate popular video games that have proven to stand the test of time. This year’s games are all heavyweight titles and include The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Dance Dance Revolution, Sid Meier’s Civilizationand classic arcade Mrs. Pac Man.
Titles such as those selected for inclusion in the Hall of Fame are selected through nominations, which can be submitted by anyone. These nominations are researched and a final decision is made for participants based on “advice from journalists, academics, and other individuals familiar with the history of video games and their roles.” in social”.
These four inductees were announced at the Video Games Hall of Fame venue at the Strong Museum in Rochester, New York, on May 5. Museum visitors can now witness them in all their glory, full of lengthy bios about each game and their importance, on the second floor of the museum.
Not every game can be featured. There are many finalists who did not do well this year, including Assassin’s Creed, Candy Crush Saga, Minesweeper, NBA Jam, PaRappa the Rapper, Resident Evil, Rogue, and Words with friends. These could be some of the games that are expected to enter the movies of 2022 next year.
